Behind ever Koko FitClub there is a strong and passionate entrepreneur who sees the importance of health and wellness. Which is an understatement for the woman behind the Rapid City Koko FitClub, Diane Knutson.
We asked her 7 basic questions, see what she had to say below!
1. TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOU
I’m a 4th generation entrepreneur. Grew up in a town of 1000 people in Dakota City, NE. Graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Community Health Eduction. Graduated with a Masters from the University of Iowa in Recreation Administration. I love being a mom more than I ever imagined I would. I love animals and the environment. My mom is a cowgirl poet and my dad is an entrepreneur.
2. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES
- Making soap.
- Learning about dinosaurs with my daughter.
- Admiring the night sky.
3. WHY DID YOU START KOKO
I saw an opportunity to deliver a fitness solution that was better than anything else currently on the market. I operate Koko in a way that gets members results and respects the environment all at the same time. My goal was to find a way to make a living for my family and become a philanthropist with a focus on the mission of International Dark Sky Association mission that protects the night sky.
4. WHAT’S YOUR FITNESS STORY
I grew up being coached. When it came to working out on my own later as an adult, I would wander around the gym and do the exercises I remembered or comfortable with, instead of the routine that would really get me results. I’ve worked out at Koko for 7 years. Even throughout my entire pregnancy. Weight training helped me have a healthy pregnancy and a smoother delivery.
5. HAS FITNESS ALWAYS PLAYED A HUGE ROLE IN YOUR LIFE
I would go to swimming practice every morning and night. My best event was the 100Yd Backstroke with a standing block start. I grew up doing a sport every season every year. I did volleyball, track, cross country, tennis, softball, drill team.My senior year I tried out for a new to me sport: Golf. I didn’t have a golf set of my own so my coach loaned me his wife’s clubs for the season.
6. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT KOKO
As an adult wanting to stay active and fit, Koko became my new coach.
7. WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO KOKO
I get results. My strength has increased, my nutrition has improved, the workouts are tailored to my specific fitness goals.
